PROJECT

Opening in December of 2008, this exhibit looks at a history of African American holidays over the years, as well as special events in the African American communities throughout the country. The exhibit includes artifacts from family trips and holidays, to environments: one of which recreates a juke joint, with working juke box. Wedding gowns and memorabilia from African American Sororities and Fraternities and many photographs taken of the events are also on view. The exhibit will be on display until September 20, 2009.
